Fundamentally delivers something powerful, educational and emotive. Its not the light hearted easy contemporary book club read I was expecting and for that I am grateful. The characters are the heartbeat of the novel, they feel flawed, vivid and deeply human. It had me laughing out loud and also feeling very sad, most importantly it had me questioning everything I thought I knew about a very serious situation, the ISIS brides.
